ABOUT
PATRICIA KONETZNY
Patricia
A. Konetzny, CFP® EA
When I founded
The Practical Planner
in 1999, my goal was
to be the kind of financial
planner I knew would
help people the most. I
wanted to provide competent,
unbiased, life-centered
financial planning to
people from all walks
of life, through all
the stages and ever-changing
circumstances of their
lives.
I
bring a unique blend
of professional and
personal experience
to my advice to clients. I
hold the Certified Financial
Planner® and Enrolled
Agent designations and
graduated with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Economics
from Assumption College
in Worcester, Massachusetts. As
a business owner and
mother, I am uniquely
aware that families must
balance conflicting goals. My
interest in financial
planning grew from my
own years as a stay-at-home
mother. With four
children, including a
set of twins, it made
sense for me to learn
ways to save money on
taxes and investments,
as well as groceries
and braces.
Providing high-quality
personal service to my
clients is very important
to me. That
is why I’ve aligned
myself with the leading
professional organizations
for financial advisors
and tax preparers: the
National Association
of Personal Financial
Advisors (NAPFA), the
Financial Planning Association
(FPA), the Alliance of
Cambridge Advisors, and
the National Association
of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). As
a NAPFA-Registered financial
advisor, I am required
to meet the most stringent
continuing education
requirements in the industry.
I
have been quoted for
articles in The Wall
Street Journal, Wall
Street Journal Online, Kiplinger’s
Personal Finance,
Fidelity Investment’s Stages magazine
and E-News,
and Investment Advisor magazine. I
was a source for the
April 2005 Parents magazine
article, “Can You
Afford to Quit Work?” and
the November 2005 Money magazine
column about investment
strategy for saving versus
pre-paying college loans.
I am also a contributing
financial advisor for
the Boston Herald’s Money
Makeover series.
My Approach to Working
With You
I give you a comprehensive
view of your financial
picture. By
understanding your
total financial picture,
I’m
in the best position
to provide solutions
on all the key areas
of your financial
life.
I’ll
assist you in establishing
and prioritizing your
goals and objectives. If
you are like most
people, making
the right financial
decisions can be
overwhelming. I
will help you decide
the best course of
action based on
what you want to
achieve.
I’m
there with you to implement
the solutions. You’ll
have the time to focus
on what you do best. You
will not only receive
advice, I will help
you implement and monitor
planning decisions.
I’m there for you
as you travel on your life’s
journey. I will be
helping you adjust to your
changing life circumstances,
staying on top of current
tax laws, and there to
answer your questions.
Some
financial planners prepare
a one-time plan. This
would probably be sufficient
if life were like a highway
with no construction,
no potholes, and no detours,
and if you didn’t really
care about enjoying the
scenery. I believe
your financial plan should
adjust to the changes in
your life.
